Cruising: The Perfect Vacation Escape

With today being a cold, damp and generally dreary weather day here in Connecticut we thought it might be fun to think about warm tropical getaways.  Are you looking for a unique vacation?  One that will allow you visit multiple destinations with minimal hassle?  Consider a cruise as your next vacation option!

Now granted, we’re biased.  If/when we get breaks from the office and limousine business, our favorite way to travel is via cruise ship.  However, we think the value and experiences are unparalleled.

Cruising is a multi-billion dollar industry that seems to grow larger annually.  2009 saw almost 13.5 million passengers climb the gangway and embark on a vacation at sea.  According to the Cruise Lines International Association, independent surveys reveal a 95% satisfaction rating with approximately 50% of cruisers returning for subsequent cruise vacations.  Many of the larger cruise ship companies are in a race to offer the latest and greatest technology at sea; while other companies are focused on smaller, more intimate cruising experiences.  The bottom line is that there is a cruise out there for most everyone.

Global, Transatlantic, Mediterranean, Alaska or niche markets are all available and would great vacation destinations.  Area residents may not be aware of the vast array of cruises departing from area ports including Manhattan, Brooklyn and Cape Liberty (Bayonne), NJ.  Area ports offering itineraries featuring destinations including New England, Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean and ranging from a weekend away to a 14-day transatlantic tour.

So, when you’re seeking out a unique vacation, consider an experience at sea.  Enlist family and friends and agree upon a date, itinerary and ship.  Our experience has been, the more joining in the cruise, the better the vacation!  With world-class dining, entertainment, shopping and recreational activities all on board, there is something for everyone.  The added advantage is the bags get unpacked onboard while you are afforded the opportunity to see and experience host of world-class destinations.
