Reservation Tips
Preparing to travel out of town soon? Are you in need of chauffeured transportation to one of the Connecticut or Metro New York area airports? Here’s what you need to know before calling or heading online to secure a reservation:
1. How many passengers will be traveling?
This is important as it determines the vehicle needed. Our sedans can accommodate up to 4 passengers, our SUVs a maximum of 6 and our limousine a group of 8 travelers.
2. Do you need a one-way reservation or round trip?
Occasionally, we offer discounts on round trip travel. Please feel free to ask about any current promotions when calling for a quote or making a reservation.
3. Have your travel information handy.
For domestic flights, we encourage passengers to plan on arriving 1 – 1.5 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. For international travel, please plan for 2 – 3 hours. These recommendations are in line with the current industry standards. If you will be cruising out of one of the area ports, we typically recommend arrivals at the port between 10 am and noon on the day of departure. Remember, this is the first day of your vacation!
We will schedule pick-up times in line with the aforementioned guidelines. If you would like additional time at the airport, simply let us know. Also, we encourage you to consider an earlier pick-up time if you will be traveling with small children or have mobility issues. Ultimately, our goal is to get you to your final destination in a comfortable, peaceful and rested manner.
In addition to flight information (airline and flight numbers), we need your pick-up or drop-off address and request a cell phone number and email address.
4. Pick a Meeting Spot
For airport service, we offer customers the option of curbside or baggage claim/customs service. Curbside typically works well for the business traveler, anyone traveling with light or no luggage or frequent travelers. In order to utilize curbside service, you need to have access to a phone to give us a call once you are ready for pick-up. With curbside pick-up, once we receive your call, the car should be ready to pick you up in a timeframe of 2-7 minutes, depending on the airport. Unfortunately, chauffeurs are not allowed to sit curbside and must be in a cell phone lot to await the call.
Baggage claim/customs services are available for a nominal charge and will have the chauffeur inside to meet your party and assist with luggage.
For cruise port passengers, given port logistics, curbside pick-up is the only option.
5. Payment
Sorry — mundane detail! We need a credit card to secure your reservation but no charges will be incurred until after your trip. If you prefer to pay in cash, that’s fine — we’ll make a note of it on your reservation.
6. Any Special Requests?
Traveling with children and need a car seat or booster? Please let us know. We offer customers the option to use their own seats or access to ours (at a nominal cost), the choice is yours.
Are you celebrating your anniversary, a milestone birthday, retirement or family gathering? Please let us know — we like to help start the celebration off right!
Do you have a favorite chauffeur? Again, please let us know. We will make every attempt to have your favorite professional behind the wheel.
After speaking with one of our reservationists or entering your reservation online, you will receive a confirmation for your trip(s). Should anything change prior to departure or arrival, please let us know so we can update our records accordingly. For airport travel, we will be tracking your arrival and have the vehicle set to arrive inline with projected flight estimates. We look forward to serving you!
